Sallie Raymond
A graduate of University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture and Art, Sallie worked for many years as a display stylist in Cincinnati, Ohio and London, England and as a layout artist in New York City. She then spent over thirty years in the marine industry, delivering yachts up and down the East coast, chartering
around Florida and the Bahamas and working as a parts and store manager on Cape Cod and in Florida.
In 2010, Sallie joined the Cape Cod Art Center with the intention of returning to her artwork. By chance she signed up for a class with Odin Smith in pastel and acrylic. Now Sallie works exclusively in acrylic, finding it the most versatile medium she has ever experienced. Exploring the possibilities of the medium have
lead her to many awards and much satisfaction. For many years now she has studied with Robin Wessman.
Sallie is an artist member of Cape Cod Art Center, Monday Painters, and Northside Artists. Her work is shown at Eastwind Studio and Gallery, Orleans, MA, Summer Mondays on Dennis Green with Monday Painters, and in the gift shops at Cape Cod Museum of Art and Cape Cod Art Center. Although she paints other locations, Cape Cod is Sallie’s muse. From childhood to the present, Cape Cod has been the place she loves best!
